Insomnia
Hello. This is my sixth blog post. It will be about a subject that involves a sleeping disorder like most of my other posts. You might've heard the name before, if not, well this could be an interesting read. Welcome to the post dedicated to sleep and today people, it will all be about insomnia.
How many types of Insomnia are there?
Well, there's two types of insomnia: primary insomnia and secondary insomnia.
Primary insomnia means that the person is having sleep problems, but it is not related health conditions or problems. Secondary insomnia means that the person is having sleep problems because of health conditions, pain or the substance that they are taking. Not only that, insomnia is based on how long it lasts and how often that it occurs. Like the types of insomnia, there are two types of long it can last. If it is short-term, than it is an acute insomnia. It lasts around one night to a few weeks. If it lasts a long time, than it is a chronic insomnia. It lasts at least three nights a week for a month or maybe even longer.

Imagine not being able to sleep for days and days. Then you start taking medicine to allow you to sleep and they start working. Then boom, they don't work anymore. You start getting agitated and start buying more medicine and you look like that one person in Shoppers Drug Mart with their pajama, bedhead and dark circles in their eyes. Your s/o, (if you don't have one, then your family) starts getting worried about your health and you start throwing a fit when they say that you need help. You get mad at them and you start drinking(more often) and not coming back home. Your s/o files for a divorce and you lose everything you have. You notice how your life has changed because of one simple(major) mistake of not listening and going for help. And to stop all your suffering, you decide to sui- I should stop.
Remember, if you have health problems or problems in general, don't leave them alone. You need to take care of them because you don't know what path you'll take and those one or two choices in your life can ruin everything that you have or could've had.
Even if you're prescribed for sleeping pills for insomnia, they're normally prescribed for a limited time. Avoid over-the-counter sleeping pills for insomnia because they lose effectiveness over time. So, if you're that Shoppers Drug Mart person, you might want to ask your health care provider to prescribe you sleeping pills themselves.

Hey Ricky! You're blog is very interesting and very appealing to me because sleep is one of my favorite activities (I'm not lying). Anyway, I have a few questions related to sleep that I was wondering if you could answer. The first is if having OCD increases the odds of insomnia, or if having you're brain stuck in it's analytical stage is a cause of insomnia. The second question is that, if I'm getting the required amount of sleep, if not more each night, why am I always tired?!?
